The double layered dashboard comes with strategically placed red illuminated dials that sweeps around either side of the steering wheel. There are also red start button, digital speedometer and large dial in the center with tacho on the perimeter and other meaningful info glowing red â€" creating a futuristic feel.

The Civic Type-R has been equipped with Honda’s “magic seat” system that allows the rear seats to be folded â€" creating a full flat rear cargo floor â€" eventually increasing the usable boot space from 485 liters to 1,352 liters.
Overall, the Civic Type-R is masterpiece for involvement and a win over an 8,000 r.p.m. redline. It is an impressive package loaded with character and keenly priced for $39,990. Why Are There So Many Pick Up Trucks In Southern California?

When I moved to San Diego I was expecting to chicks cruising around in convertibles. Apparently they love their pick ups more.

San Diego is home to picturesque beaches, beautiful babes and an absurd amount of pick up trucks. Given the climate one would expect to convertibles, but guess again. I have lived in Northeast for twenty two years and I have never seen so many trucks until now.

I have really tried to understand this phenomenom and have come up with a few ideas.
1. SoCal is for surfers. What better place to hang ten than in the comfortable waters off the California coast. Unless you’re living the dream and own a house on the beach, you’re like most of us and have to drive to the beach, usually taking a highway. Surfboards aren’t exactly an easy item to transport. They are big, fragile, and unforgiving. So I can see owning a pick up truck being helpful with transporting your board to and fro the beach. Plus, you don’t need to worry about getting your interior all sandy. This seems like a justifiable reason for purchasing a pickup, but why not just throw a board rack on your car?
2. The gas mileage isn’t that bad. Sure you’re truck’s gas mileage may not be that bad, but it’s far from being good. And last time I checked gas prices were skyrocketing. I think gas is currently going for over $3.50 a gallon. Prices on the east coast are at least 50 cents cheaper per gallon. One would think that California drivers would be trying take any measures they could to conserve gas. Why not consider a hybrid? Sure they may not be as cool, spacious, or masculine as truck, but at least you won’t spend your whole pay check on gas.
3. I’m in construction. Ok this is a good reason for having a pick up truck. I still think people should still consider buying a cheap car that gets good gas mileage. This way they could have their daily driver for running errands and what not and have the truck purely for work purposes.
4. Trucks are for big dogs. It seems like people out here treat trucks almost as a luxury vehicle. In the northeast, people spring for luxury vehicles â€" BMW, Mercedes, Lexus etc. I really haven’t seen that many luxury cars around in San Diego. I have seen a lot of big trucks that are decked out with lift kits, rims, exhausts. I work for an automotive company so I know just how expensive these aftermarket parts really are.
All of these items can easily total up to a few grand â€" very easily. But what is strange is that most of these items are purely for cosmetic purposes. Trucks only need lift kits if they are going to be used for off-roading, which requires a good amount of clearance. Unfortunately, most of the trucks I’ve seen are, for lack of a better term, too pretty to be taken off-roading or mudding. So my conclusion is that people dump thousands of dollars into transforming their truck into a swamp monster, but the harshest conditions that most of these trucks see is the 8.

But when it comes down to it, people love their trucks. They are die hard fans and simply won’t give them up. They will sacrifice their hard earned money and pay more for gas. They will try and jam them into tight parking spaces. They will pay top dollar for them. Oh well, if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.

The LS 600hL has the first application of LED low-bean headlights. But, what is more thrilling is the Intelligent Park Assist (IPA) system sustained. The technology makes use of a rear camera and ultrasonic sensors in identifying a parking space and calculates the correct steering angle to guide the vehicle without curbing the 19 inches rims or perhaps bending fenders. And, the driver’s involvement only comes from putting pressure on the gas pedal.

Aside from the intuitive park assist, the LS 600hL is also equipped with an advanced pre-collision system that readies the car for an unavoidable accident. It also has antilock breaks, vehicle stability control and traction control to provide assurance of safety to drivers in the event of an accident.
The LS 600hL also features push button control on side and rear window blinds, and automatic controls on body heat sensor.

According to Jesse Munoz, technical instructor for Toyota, Lexus and Scion AK, the LS 600hL is compared to other cars like talking about apples and oranges. He said that the new Lexus brought the luxury car to the next level, significant observed from a personal entertainment standpoint. He pointed out the Mark Levinson Reference Surround hi-fi sound system, multi-display 9 inches LCD flip-down screen and 450-watt 19-speaker audio system. To provide private audio playback, there are also high quality wireless headphones. He said, “… it’s also got a rear ottoman seat with shiatsu massage â€" it’s something you just got to experience to believe. It’s just amazing.” With the impressive 16-way power-adjustable heated/cooled ventilated seat, all occupants are sure to breathe purified air, arriving with a touch of the interactive screen that also serves the voice-activated navigation system.

Overall, the Lexus LS 600hL hybrid is another technology-packed luxury car with enhanced performance in significant aspects, not just for being equipped with premium Lexus oxygen sensor, but well-innovated auto parts to optimize quality and precision.

Cheap Car Insurance : A Cost-Effective Protection

People in all ages have aspired to lead a comfortable life. A life with some luxuries. A feeling which always existed but fulfilling which was not always easy. Modern times, however, has changed all that. People now can spend on luxury items. Talking about luxury items, one item that must be included in the list is car. A feat people found it difficult to achieve earlier but thanks to several financial services getting a loan for purchasing a car is very easy now a days. What makes this offer even more attractive is the fact that the rate of interest is slashed considerably making it truly a friendly offer.

However, if after purchasing a car one thinks that one's trouble is over then one is sadly mistaken, for one has to now turn his attention towards protecting it. It is important, for repairing a car is very expensive and if one has not thought about it then one would end up paying exorbitant amount for the purpose. Car damage is a very viable threat simply because the rate of accidents are on constant rise. Even statistics attest this fact. The rate of accidents in UK in the last ten years have increased manifold. Cars are the biggest casualty and many times the damage inflicted is huge. It is here that car insurance comes into play and ensures that one is spared from the pains of arranging money for the repair of the car. Not only this the amount charge for this purpose is also so meager that it would only be right to term car insurance as cheap car insurance.

However, to gain from cheap car insurance one would do well to take care of a few things. First of all one must ensure that the policy comes to life as soon as it is signed, one must also see that what are the types of accidents that the car is protected from. Apart from it one must also see to it that no wrong information is provided to the insurance company as well as the fact that there is no default on monthly premiums.

If efforts like these are taken then one can be rest assured that cheap car insurance would go a long way in helping people out in the hour of crisis.

The Porsche: Germany's Top Luxury Car

When people think luxury, they think of the Porsche. With its cars' high price tags, powerful engines, and smooth, sleek lines, there's no question that Porsche is one of the most prestigious automakers in the world.
The genius behind the company was a man named Ferdinand Porsche.
Born in what is now the Czech Republic in 1875, he demonstrated astonishing mechanical aptitude at a young age. He was the third of five children. His father, a plumber, expected Ferdinand to take over the family business--but Ferdinand had other dreams. At eighteen, after completing an apprenticeship with his father, he took a job in Vienna with the firm Bela Egger & Co.

At the company, Ferdinand demonstrated impressive skill for his age. He built an electric wheel-hub motor, and was soon attracted across the street to rival Jakob Lohner & Co. This company was actively developing electric cars, and Ferdinand felt his skills could be better used there. And they were--three years after joining the company, Porsche had built an entire electric car.

This historic car, the Lohner-Porsche, was innovative in several ways. The two wheel-hub motors on the front wheels had an output of 2.5 horsepower, generated an astonishing 120-rpm, and were completely silent. The battery could travel 50 kilometers between recharges. The car could travel up to 50 kilometers per hour.

But this was only the beginning. Porsche began experimenting with internal-combustion motors, and his next car, the System Mixt, had internal-combustion wheel hub motors. Porsche went on to win several speed records and widespread acclaim--his name was now well-known not just in engineering circles, but also to the general public. In 1905, he won the coveted Poetting Prize as Austria's most outstanding engineer.
In 1906, Austro-Daimler offered to make Porsche its chief designer. Porsche accepted the job, and in 1910 he designed an 85-horsepower car for the Prince Henry Trial, an international competition named in honor of Prince Henry of Prussia. Porsche's designs won the top three places at the trial.

With the start of World War I, Austro-Daimler began to focus on producing war materials such as trucks, airplane engines, and mechanized weapons. Porsche saw his star rise further in these years; in 1916, he became Austro-Daimler's managing director. He was also awarded an honorary doctorate from Vienna Technical University. This honor was very meaningful to him. Ever afterwards, he was known as Professor or Doctor Porsche, and incorporated the honor into his company's name.

Dr. Porsche had competed in rallies and speed competitions since he became interested in building cars. He believed that by building racecars, he could improve the performance of all his vehicles. As a result, he developed an interest in building small, light, high-performance cars.
Unfortunately, he and Austro-Daimler did not see eye to eye. The company's board did not agree with the direction Porsche wanted to take, and eventually Porsche left. He went on to a position at Steyr, but the Great Depression made car-making an unprofitable business. The company collapsed, and Dr. Porsche was unemployed.

So he moved to Stuttgart, a town with a strong connection to the automotive industry and the location of several prominent car companies, and started a consulting business. His team consisted of people he had worked with before, and a few family members--including his son, Ferry.
The company's aim was to help other companies design better cars--not to design them itself. So in the beginning, none of the cars the company designed had the Porsche name. That changed when the government, now under Nazi control, came to Porsche with a project: design a car "for the people"--a Volkswagen.

Porsche as a company has always been closely tied to Volkswagen; many of the components of the early Porsche cars came from the Volkswagen Beetle. Porsche's Volkswagens were popular, affordable cars that survived after the collapse of the Third Reich. Porsche and his son, and later his grandson, went on to design such ground-breaking cars as the 911, the Boxster, the Spyder, the Roadster, the Carrera, and many others.

Porsche survived the Great Depression, the Third Reich, and dramatic corporate restructuring to keep its place at the forefront of the automotive industry. No matter the country, everyone knows that Porsche cars stand for luxury, power, and performance.

5 Bad Habits That Could Ruin Your Credit

There's lots of good ideas out there on what you can do to correct a bad credit or a bad debt situation. But have you ever taken a few minutes to think, "How in the heck did my credit get so bad?".

Bad credit does not come about because it's something that you thought about and planned for. It's more like the opposite. It comes about because you're enjoying your life, spending on what you want, not always just what you need.

Let's face it. Credit is a great thing to have. Credit takes your life to a whole new level. Just try to book that hotel room in Las Vegas without a credit card! Most hotels wont even take cash because they want to bill you for that last meal or whatever after you've checked out.

But here are some ways to that you can ruin a good thing:

1. Never pay your bills on time.
2. Use credit cards for all purchases, large and small.
3. Borrow against the equity in your home.
4. Buy the most expensive car or home that you can afford.
5. Amass substantial student loan debts.

Now lets talk about this list for a minute. Are you always waiting until the last minute to pay your bills? If so, you're cruising for a bruising. You should wait no more than a few days after you receive your bills to pay them.

Next, do you use credit cards for both large and small purchases? Everytime you pull up to the drive-thru at Wendy's and McDonalds do you whip out that credit card? If so, you may be paying less and less attention to your credit card statement. Maybe you don't notice the $5 charges. If you eat 3 meals a day that's $450 per month or $5,400 per year that you didn't even notice.

Do you want to upgrade that kitchen. Even if you decided not to upgrade the countertops, the cabinets or the floor, you would be looking at about 5 large for just appliances. Why not borrow against the equity in your home? Here's the problem. The real estate market is always in flux. There is absolutely no way to tell what your house will sell for, until it's already sold. Brokers require thousands in commission fees to sell your home. You could very easily end up taking a loss. Take too many losses and you're in serious debt.

Buying cars, and homes are really about status. We want to feel good about ourselves and so we dress nice, buy expensive cars and homes. It's much better to live below your means than above it. There are a lot of people abandoning nice homes because they finally figured out that they can't afford it. People who drive luxury cars declare bankruptcy every day of the week.

As far as student loans go, I must add myself to the list of blind borrowers. When in college you think it's going to be easy to pay those loans off. Well its not. Thank goodness the federal government now allows borrowers to use a "graduated payment plan." Also, if you are still taking classes or can prove that you are unemployed, you can file for a "forbearance" and skip a few payments. Instead of borrowing, should try to apply for scholarships at the school you want to attend. There are also local civics clubs who provide scholarships. You can also try at the state level. Apply first, borrow if you must.

The first step to maintaining good credit is knowing and understanding your credit report. Each year, you are entitled to a free credit report. The Federal Trade Commission provides free information regarding your rights here: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/menus/consumer/credit/rights.shtm

If things get really bad, here are some of the things that you can do:
Debt Consolidation: If you are in a position to pay back the debt, you can opt for debt consolidation. You can consolidate all your debts into a single low interest credit card or take out an unsecured loan and clear off the single debt in installments every month.

Debt Negotiation: If your credit standing is not good and you are not in a financial position to pay off the single large monthly debt, then debt consolidation will not work. Debt negotiation may be an option. You can hire someone for a fee, or you can do it yourself. Using debt settlement companies generally are not a good idea because many tend to work for the credit card companies under the guise of "credit counselors". They can negotiate about down to about 50% of what you owe, but the process can completely ruin your credit for seven years or longer. The best thing would be negotiate yourself, or with an attorney-based firm and try to keep the negotiations off your credit report.

Bankruptcy: This you be absolutely, positively your last resort. Bankruptcies stay on your credit report for at least 10 years and maybe longer. At this point, if you declare bankruptcy you have entered shark-invested waters. Every credit card and every loan will be at the highest possible rates. Potential employers will see that bankruptcy when they perform a background check. Not a good prospect. Everytime you seek to rent or purchase anything that requires a credit check, you can expect to be denied. As I said before, don't do it unless there is absolutely, positively no way out.

Renting Cars When Traveling: The Pros and Cons

"So you're about to embark on your great Toronto weekend adventure. You have your itinerary all mapped out and you've booked the hotel you're going to be staying in. The only thing left to decide on now is whether it's wise to rent a car in Toronto or not.

As with anything, renting a car when traveling has its own pros and cons.
On the more positive side, when you use a rented car when you travel, you have more freedom and control. As opposed to using public transport, you do not have to follow strict schedules and you have the luxury of traveling at your own pace. You can stop to have an impromptu picnic at the flower-filled valley you happen to accidentally stumble upon. With rented vehicles, you can, literally, stop to smell the roses. Similarly, with these vehicles, you aren't confined to a plane or a bus and thus, you are able to appreciate the scenery, and the journey as a whole, better.

Another argument made by those who favor hiring rent a car services is the fact that when they break down while you're using them, the rent a car company would immediately hand over a new vehicle to you. You wouldn't have to worry about repairs or finding yourself without an alternative form of transportation--the rental company will take care of all of these for you.
When you rent vehicles, you also get more options and you are able to choose which car would suit your trip better. You can pick a more rugged vehicle or a more luxurious one. You can choose how big or small you want your vehicle to be. If you're going on a trip to see the Rocky Mountains for example, do you really think it's wise to drive there in your Maserati Quatroporte? I don't think so.

Renting a car to use on your trip, many point out, also saves your own car from incurring more miles and, if you are planning on driving on tough terrain, potential damages.

On the flip side of the coin of course, are the disadvantages of renting a car when you're traveling, the first being, the higher costs of renting a car. While there are affordable rent a car services available, they are still considerably more expensive than traveling using your own car.

Another disadvantage is the added task of having to familiarize yourself with the car's controls--a tedious task that you nevertheless have to do. You don't want to end up fidgeting with your car's buttons, looking for the knob that controls the heater while you're driving in the middle of a busy road, do you?

Also, there is the added hassle of having to actually rent a car. While many companies now allow clients to make reservations online, renting a car still requires considerably more effort than just entering your garage and turning the ignition of your own vehicle.

To rent or not to rent? Weigh these pros and cons carefully and find out what choice would help you enjoy your vacation to the fullest.
